Thursday, September 19, 2019 - Get a Memorable Toll Free Number for USA and Canada

Getting a toll free number is an important milestone in any business; it says you’re serious and that you care about your customers. It says you’re easy to reach and it won’t cost your callers anything to call you no matter which state or province they are located in. What’s more, your business doesn’t even need to be located in USA or Canada in order to get a toll free number. Whether you’re in USA, Canada, or another country, you can make your toll free number more memorable by choosing it carefully.

The two ways to do this are by choosing memorable numbers as part of the sequence such as “1234” or “5555” or by choosing a vanity number where letters correspond to numbers such as “ACME” which would be “2263.”

The first method is generally left up to chance. When you sign up for a USA / Canada toll free number, you’ll be given a list of available phone numbers from which to choose. If a number seems easy to remember, it might be a great choice for your business. If not, you could either keep scrolling until you find one you like better or you could order a vanity number instead.

With a vanity toll free number, you’ll pay a one-time set-up fee. However, that will give you much greater control over the final number. Here’s how it works:

Select your prefix — Options are 8** (we will select it for you), 833, 844, 855, 866, 877, and 888. If your vanity number will incorporate a common word, we suggest starting with 8** as you’ll get more potential options than you would if you restricted your numbers to a given toll free prefix.

•  Enter your desired keyword — A typical US / Canada toll free number has 7 digits after the prefix, so the perfect vanity toll free number would have seven letters such as 888-ABC-DEFG. This isn’t always possible, so you may have to settle for some numbers such as 888-123-WORD or 888-12WORDS. Occasionally, the system might suggest a number with most of the letters along with a letter or two in red lowercase, such as 888-123-4WORDs. The red lowercase letters are not actually part of the number, but it won’t hurt if you advertise your number as such. They help to make the toll free number memorable.

•  Select your contract-free, toll free monthly package — All of our vanity toll free phone numbers are available on a month-to-month basis without a contract. Each package comes with a defined number of minutes, extensions, per minute rate (currently as low as 3.9 cents per minute!), and 35 features including fax on demand, virtual calling card, virtual PBX extensions, music on hold, no busy signals, live call forwarding, multiple mailbox extensions, voicemail to email, and many more.

Choose your desired keyword and see what numbers are available. Select a memorable USA / Canada toll free number and get a free 14-day trial.
