General Questions

Q. Before I sign up, can you confirm that there are really no monthly fees, surcharges or hidden fees for this service?

A. There are no monthly fees of any kind, no surcharges, and absolutely no hidden fees. Customers are billed only for 'actual' per minute usage at the end of the month.

Q. Will my phone company or current long distance carrier charge me with any extra fees when I use your service to make international calls ?

A. This service is best defined as an 'international dial-around' service. If you use the toll free access number, it's a free call. Once you are connected to our international gateway, the international phone number you enter is undetected by your current carrier. You have effectively 'dialed around' your carrier.
The same is true if you have a cell phone plan that includes nationwide long distance. The access number call to the 305 area code is free of charges by your cell phone company. Any international call you then make, is NOT billed by your cell phone company. (however, you will have the 'air' time deducted from your monthly minutes)

Q. If I have unlimited nationwide long distance on my landline, will this work?

A. Yes this is the perfect plan as your access connection to our network is FREE. You'll only pay the deeply discounted international rates located here.

Cell Phone Users: If you have 'nationwide long distance' included in your cellular service plan, you can use the non toll free access number and receive these lowest rates. If you do not have nationwide long distance, you can always use the 800 toll free access number supplied with your new account information.

Q. Am I going to get a 'busy' signal when I call the '305' access number ?

A. Never. The system has a virtually unlimited capacity for inbound calls and handles thousands of connections simultaneously.

Q. Is Global Call Connect compatible with 'all' cell phone service providers.

A. Below is a list of service providers that we know our existing customers use with Global Call Connect:

AT&T Wireless, Sprint PCS, Cingular Wireless, T-Mobile, Verizon, Nextel, Triton PCS, US Cellular, Western Wireless, ALLTEL Wireless. There are probably many additional service providers that we have not listed because we have not been notified by our customers which providers they are using. The service will work with
any cellular service provider in the U.S.

Q. Will the service be compatible with my home and office phone system ?

A. Yes, you will be able to makes calls as long as you have a touch tone phone.

Q. Do I need to always enter a PIN number ?

A. No it will not be necessary to enter a PIN number. When you sign-up for service, you'll be asked to register each phone number that you wish to use the service from. Most customers register their home phone, office phone and cell phone numbers.

When you dial the network access number from one of those phone numbers you registered, the system will recognize it and then give you immediate access to the network.

If for some reason, your phone does not send our system the 'automatic number identification', you will be prompted for a 10 digit PIN. This PIN is supplied to you in situations of this type. For example, if you have caller ID blocking enabled on your phone, you will be prompted for a PIN or if you attempt to use the service from a phone that is behind a switchboard or is in a dormitory, you'll be asked for a PIN number (which is supplied for such situations).

Q. I usually call the same international numbers. Can I set up speed dial codes so I don't need to enter a long string of numbers ?

A. Yes, you can have up to ninety-nine, two digit speed dial codes. You have the option of listing up to six speed dial numbers on the sign up form. After your account is activated, you can change or add speed dial codes yourself by logging into your account to add or delete numbers.

Q. What happens after my account is activated ?

A. You will receive an email with easy user instructions. Your new account information will include your account number, access phone numbers and PIN (if ever needed).

Q. Will Global Call Connect work if I take my cell phone outside of the U.S. ?

A. No, the purpose of this calling plan is to provide U.S. subscribers with significant discounts on international calls FROM the continental U.S., Hawaii and Canada only. The service does not function if you take your U.S. cell phone outside of the U.S. and try to use it from another country.

Q. If I have a cell phone, which access number do I use ?

A. If you have 'nationwide' long distance included in your cell phone calling plan, you can dial the 305 access number without any additional long distance charges. Of course, the air time will be deducted from your monthly allotment.

If you do
not have nationwide long distance included in your cell phone plan, you can use the 800 toll free access number. Your cell phone provider will not charge extra to call a toll free number. Your cell phone air time will of course be reduced by the length of the call.

Q: If I am traveling or live in another country, can I use Global Call Connect ?

A. Yes, Global Call Connect has at least 50 cities worldwide that you can access the cheap call network from. View the long list of access countries on our Global Call Connect main page.
