Virtual Phone Numbers - How it Works
Virtual phone numbers, also known as cloud-based phone numbers and international call forwarding numbers, are not tied to a specific location like a traditional phone number. The main difference is that the customer decides where the calls are routed which can be to any phone in the world.

Here's how virtual phone numbers work:

A user signs up for a virtual phone number. The customer selects the country where they want the number to work from. The service provider assigns a virtual phone number to the user. For instance, if a customer wants a London, UK phone number, they order the number and they receive the UK number as a part of the account activation email.

When someone calls the virtual phone number, the call is routed to whatever phone number the user chooses, such as a smartphone, landline or VoIP address. The calls to the virtual phone number are instantly forwarded to any phone number in any country the customer desires.

As an option, the user can also make outgoing calls using the virtual phone number. The call is placed through the service provider's VoIP system, and the call recipient sees the customer's virtual phone number on their caller ID.

There are many additional features included with the virtual phone number found here such as voicemail, call forwarding, and call recording to name a few. These features can be accessed and changed 24/7 by the customer using the online portal and free mobile app provided to the customer.

Virtual phone numbers are often used by businesses that want to have a local presence in different countries without having a physical location there. They are also used by individuals who want to keep their personal phone number private or have a temporary phone number for a specific purpose.

Overall, virtual phone numbers provide a convenient and cost-effective way to make and receive calls without being tied to a physical location or phone line.

Customer can choose a phone number in any of 160 countries.

Example

Let's say that you want to forward calls from the U.S. to a call center in India. You can order either a local or U.S. toll free phone number and then forward the calls to your designated call destination number, in this case an India call center.

This U.S. virtual phone number would look like any other local or toll free US phone number, yet instead of ringing to an office in the U.S., you would direct it to ring to your designated call center phone number in India. (your calls can ring to any phone in any country you wish). This could be any combination of countries that fit your purpose, such as a Hong Kong number that diverts calls to Malaysia, etc.
How It Works
Using the Call Recording feature

A cloud-based call recording solution offers the option to automatically record both incoming and outgoing calls on your business or personal phone lines.

Whether you're managing business communications or handling personal matters, the conversations held over the phone can hold significant importance. Whether it's a crucial client negotiation, a customer service query, or a personal discussion with important details, having the ability to save and revisit these conversations can prove invaluable for future reference and decision-making.

Here's how call recording works

When activating the cloud call recording service, it captures 100% of the incoming calls received on the specified number. However, you have the flexibility to adjust settings and choose to record only a portion of the calls if preferred.

Inbound vs. Outbound Calls

The primary distinction between inbound and outbound calls lies in the direction of the call and the purpose behind it.

Inbound Calls

These are calls that come into a business from external parties such as customers, clients, or prospects.

They are typically initiated by the caller seeking assistance, information, support, or to make a purchase. Inbound calls are common in customer service centers, help desks, reservation lines, and support hotlines.

Outbound Calls

These are calls made by a business to external parties, such as customers, clients, or prospects.

Outbound calls are initiated by the business with the intention of marketing, selling products or services, conducting surveys, following up on leads, or providing proactive customer support.

Telemarketing companies, sales teams, and market research firms often engage in outbound calling.

Determining whether your business requires primarily inbound or outbound calling depends on various factors such as your industry, business model, target audience, and sales/marketing strategies.

If your business relies heavily on addressing customer inquiries, providing support, or handling reservations/orders, you may prioritize inbound calling.

Conversely, if your business focuses on sales outreach, lead generation, or proactive customer engagement, outbound calling may be more suitable.

Some businesses may utilize a combination of both inbound and outbound calling strategies to cater to different aspects of their operations and customer needs.
