with satellite TV is in the new high definition programming. Satellite TV already provides an advantage over cable
with an all-digital signal whereas cable subscribers must pay an additional monthly fee for digital service.
With satellite TV there is already an infrastructure in place to support high definition TV, or HDTV, and the user
needs only upgrade their dish and receiver. This means that satellite providers can offer the HD service at a lower
cost than cable.

- The consumer will generally find a greater variety
of programming options with satellite TV for movies, sports entertainment, local channels, and pay-per-view than
with basic cable or digital cable. In addition to more options, the cost will be lower with satellite TV than with
a similar cable package - in almost every case. Up-front costs are reasonable or in some cases waived, and the
per-television-set costs are generally lower as well.
For the movie buff looking for the greatest movie entertainment options, satellite TV tends to be the better choice.
