- Why use the optional 'dial out' feature ?
Three basic reasons you
may need or want to use leader 'dial-out
#1 Your participant may be located in a country that does not offer a toll free
access number but you still want that participant on the call. The moderator of the conference call can easily
dial-out to them and bring them in to the call with a few simple keypad commands.
#2 As a lower cost alternative to having the international
participant use the available 'toll free' number from their country, you can use the 'dial-out' feature to cut
costs.
#3 There is a toll free access number for the country where your participant is
located but the phone he/she is using has local carrier restrictions on dialing toll free numbers. You could use
the dial-out feature to quickly bring this participant into the conference call.
If you have participants located in other countries, the 'dial out' feature enables you to bring those conferees
in to your conference call. The participant will not incur long distance charges since you dial-out to them. Your
account would be billed for the applicable dial-out
rate.

- The keypad commands when using the dial-out feature
- [ * 1 ] - Dialing out to a participant:
By pressing [ * 1 ], the star and 1 key, the moderator/leader can now dial-out to any country. The conference call
continues while the leader dials-out and returns with the attendee. Only one phone line is needed for the leader
to use the dial-out feature.
[ * 2 ] - Returning with a new participant:
After dialing out to the participant, the moderator/leader presses [ * 2 ] to return to the conference call in
progress with the new participant.
[ * 3 ] - Return 'without' a new participant:
After dialing out to the participant, the moderator/leader can press [ * 3 ] to return to the conference call without
the new participant. For example, if there was no answer or participant was unavailable.
- A combination of toll free access and 'dial-out' on the same conference call
- You can elect to use this service in a manner that benefits your situation the most.
Your conference calls may consist of a combination of connection types, toll free dial-in or leader dial-out.
You may want some participants to use the supplied country specific toll free access number from their country
and other participants you may decide to dial-out to, at your option.
In some cases, there may not be a toll free access number available in a conferee's country, this would be a reason
to use the leader 'dial-out' feature.
- Another reason to use the dial-out feature may be cost
- Generally, the dial-out rates are less costly than having the participant dial-in toll free.
If desired, both connection methods, toll free access AND dial-out performed by the moderator, can be used during
the same conference call.
- Group Dial Out - A solution for a moderator to connect automatically to a pre-loaded dial out list
of conference call participants. This is a free feature with the International Conference Call plan.
- The UBlast feature
will automatically dial out to your team or group. The moderator simply enters the participant list of phone numbers
in a provided online form. When a conference call to this group is desired, the moderator dials into the conference
call bridge as normal, and presses [ * 9 2 ] on his/her phone keypad. The system automatically dial out to all
participants on the list. Editing the list can be done online 24/7.
