Q.
What are the rates?
U.S. Toll Free rate = 2.5¢ per minute ($0.025)
- Canada Toll Free rate = 2.5¢ per minute
($0.025)
Q. Is there a contract or any prepayment required to activate an account?
A. This
plan is Pay-As-You-Go. There is no prepayment required. Also there is no contract or usage commitment. Any account
usage is billed to a credit card on a postpaid (billed at end of billing cycle), not prepaid.
Q.
I suppose I will be assigned an account number
and a PIN number?
A. Actually
you receive two PIN's. The participant PIN that you send
to all 'participants' and the Host or Leader PIN which is used by the chairperson to login to the call.
Q.
Is there some way I can know who is on the
call such as their caller ID?
A. You
receive all caller ID's of any participants that dialed in including your own caller ID as the host. So yes, you
would know the caller ID of all that participated. An attendance report is sent after each conference call with
all call details.
Q.
Is there an online account dashboard?
A. Yes.
Your account includes the online Live Conference Viewer which permits the Host to gain more control over the call.
In addition to being able to view caller ID's of all on the call, the host can actually mute all or individual
callers, delete a caller, start recording, disconnect the conference, etc.
Q.
Can I schedule a conference call with you in advance in order to receive the PIN numbers so I can distribute it
to meeting attendees when I send them the conference invitation?
A. There is no scheduling
required with us. You are free to give out the PIN's immediately
upon receiving your account welcome email. You can host your calls 24/7 without booking the call with us. New accounts are activated
quickly.
Q.
Could participants dial-in and have their own
conference call without me?
A. No
because the system will not connect only callers that use the participant code. The Leader/Host PIN must be entered
before the conference call can begin and then all can be heard. But there is no conference call until the Host
enters the call with the Host PIN.
Q.
What if I want to change PIN's for my account,
how is this done?
A. Simply
email or call customer service and tell us you wish to change the PIN's for your account. It's free to do so, ofcourse.
Q.
What happens if some participants do not hang up after the call.
Can they stay on and talk without me?
A. No
because the system has a built-in feature called "Auto Hang Up". This feature is enabled by default,
unless requested otherwise. It
automatically disconnects the entire conference call when the Host hangs up. This feature can be enabled or disabled
on request.
Q.
If I want to hold a conf call for myself and 3 others, do I just provide the three callers with the attendee PIN
number and tell them what time to call in? Or, does each caller get a separate PIN number?
A. You
would send the attendee PIN code to all of your participants. The participants ALL use the same participant code. As the Host, you
would use your unique Host code.
Q.
What if some of my participants dial in 2 minutes early before I log in with my Leader code?
A. The
early arrivals will hear only music (cannot hear each other) until you, the Host, log into the call with your host
PIN code.
Q.
If we have a participant located in China,
can they use the U.S toll number to enter our conference call?
A. Yes.
U.S telephone numbers are accessible from any country. They would need to pay their own local country phone company
for the call to the U.S but they certainly can do that. They could also use Skype to dial-in.
Q.
If some of our attendees dial the Toll Free
number and others use the supplied Toll number, can we be on the same call even though the two different access
numbers are used?
A. Yes
absolutely. The conference room is accessed by the passcodes that are entered by the participants and Host. So,
no matter what access number is used, the passcodes will direct all participants to the same conference call.
Q.
Is there a standard Toll access number, not
Toll Free?
A. Yes, we do provide
a non toll-free U.S access number included in your account activation email.
The per minute usage rate is 2.5¢ per minute for U.S access and 4.9¢ per minute for Canadian access.
This would be a cost savings for your participants that use a cell phone with built-in natiowide long distance.
Or, if your participants want to dial-in using a VoIP service, Skype or IP Phone or any other service that includes
unlimited nationwide calling, the standard Toll number could result in savings.
The standard U.S Toll access number is accessible from any country. Since this
is not a toll free number, long distance charges 'may' be charged by the callers local phone company depending
on their service plan and situation in their country. For example, they may have a VoIP calling plan that
would provide calling to the U.S free or very nominal rates.
- Q. How many participants
can be on one conference call?
A. You
can host a conference call with up to 150 attendees total by default. If you need to accomodate larger conferences,
simply let us know in advance.
Q. I need more than
one set of passcodes. How do I order additional set of passcodes for simultaneous use of the account by other departments
and teams?
A. To
add more
conference rooms, you can request as many as needed. This would permit separate conference calls to take
place concurrently under your main account. Each set of passcodes can have it's own conference ID for cost accounting
purposes.
Q.
I have callers located in Canada, can they
dial-in using the U.S toll free access number?
A. Participants
in Canada dial-in using the same supplied Toll Free number that is provided upon account activation and is used
by either Canada or U.S originated callers. For billing purposes, the system detects the geographical origination
of the caller, Canada or the U.S.
Q.
I have attendees located in other countries,
will they be able to call the U.S. toll-free access number to access my conference calls?
A. Probably
not. Most of the world cannot
dial a U.S or Canada Toll-Free number.
What we do, however, is send you a normal (not toll-free) conference bridge access number. This would be accessible
from any country. The caller would need to pay for his/her access to dial into the U.S from their country.
They would pay their local provider in their country. They could also use Skype or any other IP phone.
Or, if you have regular international conference calls with participants other than Canada, and you do not want
your international attendees to pay for access, then we do offer a different plan that provides Toll Free access
numbers in over 62 countries for international
conference calls.
Q. Is the Conference
Viewer included free with this plan?
A. Yes,
the Conference
Viewer is free. When you use the Conference Viewer, you can do
the following:
-enjoy advanced web-enabled control of your conference calls
-view Caller ID to help know who is in your teleconference
-ability to mute or disconnect certain attendees
-stop additional attendees from entering a call in process
-start recording a conference call
Q. Must I use the Live
Conference Viewer on each conference call or is it optional?
A. It's
included free but you do not have to use it.
As the moderator, you can use the Conference Viewer anytime you have web access. If it's convenient for you to
use it, you'll gain the additional control it provides during your conference call.
- Q. Can my attendees
use their VoIP or Skype to join my conference call?
A. Yes,
they can join your call with Skype or any IP phone they my have available.
Q. Can
the Moderator of the conference call use VoIP or an IP phone to host the call?
A. Yes,
however if it's a critical call, we do not recommend using a VoIP phone -if
you are the host. IP phone lines carry your connection over
the Internet and because of this, a VoIP connection can be unpredictable. The connection quality can be affected
by any of the following and more: Internet traffic at the time of your call, the condition of your IP service provider
at the time of your call, broadband capacity and many other factors beyond anyone's control.
We recommend that you use a standard PSTN phone line or cell phone if you
are hosting the call to have the best experience possible.
That said, we do have customers that use VoIP services to host their conference calls with no issues. But the unpredictability
factor of VoIP does exist.
Q. Do
I need to schedule a conference with an operator?
A. This
service is 'reservation-less' so it is not necessary to schedule a call. You simply make conference calls whenever you wish. Just
notify your participants, dial-in toll free and enjoy your account.
Q. Is there any minimum
monthly usage requirement?
A. None.
If you use your account you will be charged for the minutes used. If you don't use your account, there will be
no charges at all.
Q. Can I pay by check?
A. Usage
for this plan is billed to a credit card. If you are a larger user and currently have verifiable monthly
conferencing costs of at least $500.00, invoicing is possible. Please inquire.
Q. Will this Toll Free
access line be available to my company 24 hours a day ?
A. Absolutely
yes, 24/7/365.
Q. Will my participants
be able to get on my calls at all times without getting a busy signal?
A. Yes
they will always be able to get on your conference call without hearing a busy signal.
Q. How do I know who
was on a conference call I just hosted?
A. After each conference call
that you host, you'll receive an email from the bridge that itemizes the entire call for your records including
all of the guest caller ID's.
Q. What will my conference
call participants hear when they dial-in to my conference call?
A. Your participants will hear
a voice prompt that says, "Welcome, you have reached the conference center, please enter your passcode followed
by the [ # ] key".
Q. Since I am the moderator,
what happens if my attendees dial-in to the conference call before I do?
A. Music on hold is always
on for any attendee if they arrive before the moderator (optional).
Q. Can beep tones be
turned off or on for entry and exit?
A. Entry and exit beep tones
are an optional feature. The feature can be modified by you when you login to your account and change that preference.
Q. Is there a way to
mute all of the lines so I, the chairperson, can speak without interruption?
A. Yes, simply press [ * 5
] on you phone keypad. That command will mute all lines except yours. Or you can use the Live Conference Viewer
and tick the button that says 'Mute'.
Q. What happens if one
of my participants knows he/she has a noisy line or has noise present in their phoning area?
A. That participant can press
[ * 6 ] on his/her phone keypad. That keypad command will mute the phone line immediately. Then unmute by pressing
[ * 6 ] again, when desired. The participant will still be able to hear the conference call while their line is
muted.
Q. Can I get a demo
of this service? Can my associates and I actually hear the line quality and discuss our requirements with you?
A. We can meet on a conference
call. We would be happy to give you a demo and discuss your potential use of the service on the demo call. Just
give us a call or send an email to arrange a time.
